Talk To A Doctor: Pancreatic Cancer and the Black Community | PanCan

Join PanCAN for a conversation with Dr. Marcus Noel, an oncologist and researcher at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. He’ll be answering your questions about pancreatic cancer, with a special focus on personal and family risk, signs and symptoms, and how to advocate for yourself and your community.

During the free virtual event in honor of Black Family Cancer Awareness Week, we’ll be taking your questions on a range of topics, including:

  • The disparities experienced by the Black community, including how Black Americans are more likely to be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer than any other racial or ethnic group

  • Strategies to be your own best advocate when speaking with healthcare professionals

  • The importance of understanding personal and family risk and how to manage it

  • How PanCAN Patient Services can help patients with pancreatic cancer and their caregivers navigate the healthcare system
